About Dave's Golf Shop and our history.

Dave's Golf Shop humble beginning dates back to 1988 when Dave decided he and his wife wanted to be fitted for custom clubs to improve their game. They spent a large sum of money on their clubs and found that their golf game became increasingly worse after playing several rounds with the new clubs. Knowing that something must be wrong, Dave made a few phone calls to people he knew that were very knowledgeable about golf and golf equipment and started asking lots of questions.....lots. The answers to his questions lead him to the purchase of several technical books on the subject of golf club building and fitting. He soon found out his recently purchased custom clubs were built with the wrong shaft flex, the wrong length, and the lie angles were all off skew. Within the next year Dave acquired dozens more technical books and absorbed everything he didn't know about the subject of club making. His new curiosity led him to build clubs on the side in addition to his day job. But his interest soon became a passion and by 1990 Dave started building clubs for local golf courses and people from around the region. In 2003, Callaway asked Dave's Golf Shop to be their fitting center for the area which led other major golf manufacturers to follow suit.
